July 19, 2017: Moab Utah -> Ouray Colorado…

Claire & I Stayed in Moab for a week exploring local trails. We ended up riding Slick Rock, Shafer Trail & the old road into Arches National Park. We wanted to ride the famous White Rim trail but the afternoons were close to 47c and decided it was a good idea to not wonder too far into exposed roads with the heat. To get back to normal temps where we can wear a sweater at night, we rode out to Colorado National Monument then to Ouray, Colorado. Claire reached out to a fellow named John Woods through Tent Space on ADVrider to stay with. John owns theΒ KJ Wood Distillery in Ouray. So our current address is the MSR tent behind the Garbage bin behind the Distillery in Ouray πŸ˜‰ John has been one seriously awesome host. Two days ago Claire & I tried to make it to the top of Imogene Pass at 13,000 feet but her carb’d XR250 jetting wasn’t cutting the high altitude. Yesterday we swapped in her high altitude jet and John rode us to the top of Corkscrew Pass to Hurricane Pass to California Pass. Claire XR was rockin’ with the rejet, my CRF250 may need a remap for the next 6 weeks with the high passes we’re planning. John rips on a KTM 500 , so he doesn’t have any issues πŸ˜‰ Just a few videos & pics of what we’ve been up to…
