For any traveller, you must get used to either travelling with friends, spouses or alone. This is where you find out whom you are inside in your mind, travelling tests your self confidence and your boundaries. I love travelling alone, I love making my own schedule, seeing the things that I want to see and not have to compromise. It’s quite empowering really.
For those of you that have been following from the beginning over 8 months ago, I have travelled solo, with friends I meet on the road and with that crazy British girl that I met in Palenque, Mexico. I actually rerouted for 3 months and bought a brand new motorcycle to spend more time with her, silly I know… 😉 But I did bag the BDR in Colorado and the Continental Divide in Wyoming & Montana.
So the past 3 weeks being back in Colombia, I’ve had alot of time to explore this awesome country and to explore my thoughts. It’s nice being back on the road alone, but I would lie if I said I didn’t expect to see Claire in my mirrors behind me on her 250.
For those of you that are curious, we are trying to make things work from afar. Hard yes, but something rad to look forward to…
On a cool note, Guatape is paradise. Climbing the Piedra Del Penol was cool, but the town and the people are better.
