Mexico is officially completed. Yesterday I stayed in Tapachula, Mexico, at a hotel with good wifi to prep myself for the Guatemalan border crossing this morning. I’ve been pushing off leaving Mexico for the past 3 weeks. I’ve really grown to love the country, the roads, the people, obviously the food, the weather, and the list goes on. I know I could have happily stayed for another 2 months just exploring southern Mexico and all the rad shit it has to offer. Seeing as how I covered Baja north to south, covered all of Mexico and even covered southern Mexico overland twice in the past 2.5 months, I think I have a pretty good idea of the country. It has everything a motorcycle adventurer needs. I never had any issues with theft, accidents, people being weird or really untrustworthy. I had the odd occasion where I decided to cut a conversation short and hit the throttle but never was in any personal danger. We’ve all heard of the narco and banditos stories, and they are good to understand and how your travel should reflect them. But, I am happy to say, it was all warm fuzzies in Mexico. To those of you that welcomed me into your homes (you know who you are) THANKYOU !!!! I had one hell of a time. Hasta Luego
Now it’s time for a whole other set of adventures with Central America. Guatemala being the first of 5.
